It’s opening weekend at The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra!Robert Spano opens the season with two explosive masterpieces by two of the world’s most revolutionary composers. Mozart’s magical homage to Mlle. Jeunehomme is lovingly rendered by the masterful Mr. Andre Watts. Center for Puppetry Arts
Now playing at Center for Puppetry Arts- Wake Up Your Weird- through Sept 26, from the Emmy-nominated performer of Sesame Street’s Abby Cadabby! Discover your own unique creative gifts with Sesame Street Puppeteer Leslie Carrara-Rudolph and her friend Lolly! Together with her other puppet friends, Leslie will help the young and young at heart "wake up their weird" with this interactive performance-style workshop using puppets, storytelling, live music, improvisations, art, and movement. www.puppet.org.

The Shakespeare Tavern
Shakespeare’s History saga continues at The Shakespeare Tavern opening tonight (for Swanky Dress Up night) withHenry VIII through Oct. 24th. Get to know Henry VIII as a virile young man bouncing between his loyal wife Catherine of Aragon and other women in his court. Full of grand pageantry, watch the coronation of Anne Boleyn and the christening of Elizabeth and listen to the famous speeches the noble Duke of Buckingham, the deceitful Cardinal Wolsey and Queen Catherine give as they all fall from grace. Historical Note: During a performance of Henry VIII in 1613, a stage-cannon was fired which caused the thatched roof to catch fire and Shakespeare’s theatre burnt to the ground.
